The Wharfedale Aston is a rare and exclusive standmount loudspeaker, meticulously designed by Peter Comeau, Wharfedale’s Director of Acoustic Design. With only 500 pairs available worldwide, these handcrafted speakers showcase a perfect blend of engineering excellence and premium materials. Built in the UK, each unit undergoes rigorous testing to meet the highest standards of sound performance and aesthetic appeal.

The Aston features a high-performance 1" (25mm) fabric dome tweeter paired with a 6" (150mm) carbon fibre mid/bass driver. This combination ensures a balanced, dynamic sound signature with exceptional clarity and depth. The tweeter delivers crisp and detailed high frequencies, while the carbon fibre mid/bass driver enhances transient response, ensuring accurate and impactful bass.
The Wharfedale Aston’s high-frequency performance is delivered by a newly designed soft dome tweeter, working in perfect harmony with the carbon fibre bass/midrange driver. Through advanced computer modeling and thousands of listening tests, the Aston’s crossover network has been carefully engineered to ensure seamless integration between drivers, providing an exceptional level of musical accuracy.

The Wharfedale Aston speaker stands are handcrafted in England using high-quality British steel, ensuring durability and sonic precision. Featuring a luxurious, furniture-grade glass insert, these stands not only enhance acoustic performance but also add a touch of refined elegance to any listening space.
Wharfedale has implemented a premium-grade crossover network using air-core inductors and polypropylene capacitors, enabling seamless integration between the tweeter and bass driver. The cabinet itself is built from multi-layered wood with internal bracing, combined with resonance-damping glue. This minimizes unwanted vibrations, resulting in a purer and more refined sound output.

Wharfedale’s expanded Cambridgeshire facility now houses Aston, its second British-made speaker in decades. A new 9000 sq. ft. production space, including an anechoic chamber, ensures top-tier British audio quality.

Aston’s 6" carbon fibre cone delivers deep, textured bass and clear mids. With a die-cast chassis, dual reflex ports, and a profiled phase plug, it extends below 50Hz while maintaining vocal clarity.

Aston’s advanced motor system enhances cone control, ensuring tight bass, clean transients, and smooth upper mids—perfect for lifelike vocals and instruments.

Handcrafted with multi-layered wood, strategic bracing, and resonance-damping glue, Aston’s cabinet eliminates vibrations, preserving every detail and texture of the music.
