Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista Vinyl S Phono Stage

The Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista Vinyl S is a premium phono preamplifier designed to unlock the full potential of vinyl playback. Its foundation lies in a fully balanced analog signal path, discrete Class-A circuitry, and carefully implemented Nuvistor-based amplification. The Vinyl S aims to deliver transparent, dynamic, and detailed analog sound — whether you're using a moving-magnet (MM) or moving-coil (MC) cartridge — making your records come alive with clarity and depth.

Configurable Input Matching for MM & MC Cartridges

The Nu-Vista Vinyl S gives users fine-tuned control over cartridge loading: for MM, it offers selectable capacitance (e.g. 50–400 pF) and fixed 47 kΩ impedance; for MC cartridges, it allows selectable input impedance (from low ohms up to 47 kΩ) to match a wide variety of low- and high-output MC types. This flexibility ensures optimal performance and sound balance regardless of your cartridge choice.

Discrete Balanced Class-A Circuitry with Nuvistor Tubes

At the heart of the Vinyl S is a meticulously designed Class-A analog stage using Nuvistor tubes for buffering and amplification. The fully balanced architecture helps to reject noise and interference, giving a high signal-to-noise ratio, excellent channel separation, and a clean, quiet background — ideal for revealing the subtleties in vinyl recordings.

Precision EQ & Filtering for Accurate Vinyl Reproduction

The Nu-Vista Vinyl S supports multiple equalization curves (typically the standard RIAA, and for legacy recordings possibly DECCA or COLUMBIA — depending on implementation), giving the flexibility to playback a wide range of vinyl pressings with accurate tonal balance. Additionally, a switchable subsonic filter helps remove low-frequency rumble from warped records or turntable-induced vibrations, preserving clarity and protecting speakers.

Key Features
  • Fully balanced, discrete Class-A phono preamplifier architecture using Nuvistor tubes
  • Selectable loading for MM (capacitance 50–400 pF, 47 kΩ) and MC (input impedance selectable low-ohm to 47 kΩ) cartridges
  • Switchable EQ (RIAA, with possible legacy curves) and switchable subsonic filter for rumble control
  • High gain and wide overload margin — handles both MM and low-output MC cartridges cleanly
  • Excellent noise rejection and high signal-to-noise ratio thanks to balanced design and careful power supply/filtering
  • Robust metal chassis and high-quality build minimizing vibration and environmental interference
