Building or Renovating? Pre-Wiring is Essential.
When you're building or renovating your home, getting your audio-visual, home cinema, and networking systems pre-wired at the right stage is absolutely critical. At Instyle Hi Fi, we can’t stress enough how important it is to have your cabling done before gyprock sheeting goes up. Failing to pre-wire at the correct time can make future installation difficult, messy—and significantly more expensive, if possible at all.
Most builders and construction companies don’t fully understand the unique requirements of high-end AV, cinema, and data cabling. Some simply don’t factor it in. That’s where we come in. Our expert in-house installation team works closely with you and your builder to ensure everything is wired correctly the first time.
Note: Some building companies may not permit third-party trades on site—we’ll liaise directly with them to ensure everything complies and your system is installed properly.
The Process
Once you’ve secured your equipment with a deposit and shared your most current plans, here’s what to expect:
- We digitally model your cinema room to Dolby standards to determine precise speaker and projector placement.
- We mark up plans for all audio, visual, and networking points throughout the home.
Detailed cabling diagrams are created for your builder. - We coordinate the pre-wire schedule with your builder.
- After pre-wiring, we invoice based on actual cable lengths and time used.
- Once gyprocking is complete, we return to cut in speaker locations.
- Final installation is generally scheduled post-handover.
- Full equipment payment is required before the final installation begins.
- We complete installation, fine-tune calibration, and program your system.
- We provide a full handover and training on how to use your system.
- Final invoice is issued for installation and programming services.
- Post-installation support is a key part of our service—we’re just a phone call away.
