AudioQuest MacKenzie XLR Braid Audio Interconnect Cable - Pair

The AudioQuest Mackenzie XLR Interconnect Cable is engineered for high-fidelity balanced signal chains, linking preamps, DACs, and power amps via XLR connections. It incorporates advanced materials and topologies to reduce distortion, suppress noise, and preserve tonal integrity. The design philosophy balances performance with practicality, making it a sought choice in mid–high tier systems.

Ultra-Smooth Conductors for Lower Distortion

At its core, the Mackenzie XLR uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors. These conductors are polished to reduce microscopic surface defects and minimize distortion arising from grain boundaries. Being solid (not stranded) reduces internal strand interactions, so the cable transmits signal with greater coherence and clarity.

Geometry & Ground Strategy: Triple-Balanced Architecture

The Mackenzie XLR features Triple-Balanced geometry, which includes a separate ground-reference conductor along with the positive and negative signal lines. This ensures the cable’s shield is never used as a signal path, reducing common-mode distortion and improving grounding behavior in complex systems.

Noise Management & Carbon Mesh Shielding

To guard against RF and EMI interference, Mackenzie includes a Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS). Its construction uses alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics to absorb and reflect noise before it reaches the signal or ground conductors.
