AudioQuest Carbon USB-A to Micro B High-Definition Audio Cable

The AudioQuest Carbon USB-A 3.0 to Micro-B 3.0 Digital Audio Cable is engineered for high-bandwidth digital audio and data transfers in modern systems. It connects USB-A 3.0 (SuperSpeed) sources—such as computers, servers, or media streamers—with Micro-B 3.0 compatible DACs, storage, or devices, aiming to preserve signal integrity, reduce interference, and maintain low jitter even under heavy throughput conditions.

Conductor Architecture and Silver Enhancement

This cable uses semi-solid concentric conductors with a silver plating percentage designed to enhance surface conductivity at the digital signal’s high-frequency edges. The semi-solid concentric geometry reduces strand-to-strand interaction distortion often encountered in multi-strand designs. The mix of silver plating and copper core ensures stronger conductivity where it matters most, especially for high-speed data transitions.

Noise Dissipation and Shielding Strategy

To shield the digital path from external electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference, the cable includes a Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system that acts as “shielding the shield” by absorbing or redirecting noise before it impacts the signal or ground conductors. In addition, conductor routing is direction-aware, guiding induced noise toward ground rather than toward sensitive endpoints, further protecting signal clarity.

Insulation and Dielectric Design

The insulation uses Hard-Cell Foam (HCF), a rigid nitrogen-injected foam structure with high internal air content. Because air and nitrogen exhibit very low dielectric absorption, this insulation helps reduce stored-energy distortion and preserve timing accuracy. The rigidity of HCF also helps maintain consistent conductor spacing and geometry, ensuring stable impedance and reducing distortion along the cable’s full length.
