AudioQuest Carbon USB-A to Micro B 2.0 High-Definition Audio Cable

The AudioQuest Carbon USB-A to Micro-B 2 Digital Audio Cable is built to deliver refined, low-noise digital audio transfer between USB-A sources (e.g. computers, streamers) and devices with Micro-B 2 inputs (portable DACs, audio players). With enhanced conductor metallurgy, multi-layer noise dissipation, and precise construction, it aims to preserve clarity, suppress interference, and reduce jitter in demanding digital audio systems.

Noise Dissipation & Shielding Strategy

To fight radio-frequency interference (RFI) and related noise, the Carbon Micro-B 2 cable uses a Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation System, sometimes described as shielding the shield. This extra layer absorbs or reflects external interference before it contaminates signal or ground layers. In addition, the cable is directionally controlled, guiding induced noise away from sensitive endpoints (such as the DAC) rather than into them.

Conductor Design & Silver Plating

This cable features semi-solid concentric conductors plated with 5 % silver to improve surface conductivity where digital edges travel. The semi-solid concentric geometry helps minimize strand-interaction distortion compared to fully stranded designs. Because the signal in USB tends to travel along conductor surfaces at high frequencies, the silver plating improves clarity, while the core copper ensures robust low-frequency transmission.

Dielectric & Insulation Design

Insulation is handled by Hard-Cell Foam (HCF)—a nitrogen-injected rigid foam with high air content. Because air and nitrogen have extremely low dielectric absorption, this type of insulation helps reduce stored-energy distortion and preserve timing accuracy. The structural stiffness also helps maintain consistent conductor spacing and geometry, promoting stable impedance throughout the length of the cable.
