The AudioQuest Big Sur 3.5 mm Mini M → M Audio Interconnect Cable brings the high standards of the Mythical Creature series into a compact form. Designed to link portable or compact sources (phones, DACs, laptops) to amps or devices with 3.5 mm inputs, it retains premium construction: solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, metal-layer noise dissipation, foamed polyethylene insulation, and directional conductor control. Even in its mini format, it aims to preserve clarity, dynamics, and tonal integrity.

Pure Conductor Path for Clean Signal Transmission

At the core of the Big Sur mini cable is Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductor material, which minimizes distortion from strand interaction and grain-boundary irregularities. Solid conductors provide a stable, consistent path, enabling clearer detail and lower coloration, especially in small signal transfer segments.

Noise Dissipation & Shielding Architecture

To maintain a quiet audio background, this cable incorporates a Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system that “shields the shield” — intercepting RF/EMI before it reaches the ground reference. The design helps prevent noise modulation of the signal chain, preserving resolution in quiet passages.

Dielectric & Geometry for Enhanced Performance

The insulation is foamed polyethylene, which increases air content and reduces dielectric absorption and smearing. Combined with Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry (designed so the ground/return path is separated rather than shared with the signal path), the cable manages unwanted interaction between signal and ground, thus improving stereo imaging and reducing distortion.
