The new Planar 2 was developed over the past two years alongside the recently released Planar 3. Featuring the brand new RB220 tonearm which is packed with groundbreaking new features. Since it's first iteration, the only component that has remained a constant is the drive belt. The new Planar 2 has been completely redesigned without sacrficing what makes this turntable iconic, which is it's combination of quality components, sleek design and high-end performance.

Tonearm & Cartridge
Featuring the brand new RB220 tonearm which is packed with groundbreaking new features. Incorporating new ultra low friction, Rega designed, bespoke, zero play ball bearings, housed within a brand new, stiffer and lightweight bearing housing which was developed with a new automatic bias setting negating the need for the user to set bias, making it almost completely plug and play apart from simple arm balancing. The new housing also includes an integrated arm clip and uses Rega's latest custom aluminium arm tube.Rega Carbon cartridge supplied fitted as standard.

The Planar 2 has a new 11mm self securing brass bearing offering improved fit and less stress on the bearing preventing the transfer of potential energy.

Platter
New float glass ‘Optiwhite’ 10mm – Improved accuracy platter. Not only does this platter look amazing, it aids in the solid construction of the turntable to enable low-resonance spinning.

Low Vibration Design
Every component of the Planar 2 is designed for not only aesthetic, but to aid in low vibration playback, meaning your music can be heard as the creators intended.

Sonic clarity is improved internally thanks to the new 24v low noise, low vibration motor assembly and new PCB.

In an effort to minimise vibrations caused by external sources, Rega has introduced re-designed feet. The new improved foot assembly increases stability and reduces vibration transfer from furniture and other sources.
